Quotes about Children!

Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa

"Safety and security don't just happen, they are the result of collective consensus and public investment. We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our society, a life free of violence and fear."

Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa

"There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children."

  1. I love this quote from Nelson Mandela. Children are the most vulnerable in our society and it is our job to keep them safe. Without caring and nurturing adults some children would turn to the streets for that care and love.

I have enjoyed reading your discussion questions and blogs. Everything has been so insighful. Thanks for the comments on my assignments. I hope we have classes together in the future. I wish you well.

    1. Rolanda,
Your second quote caught my eye. The way society treats children is of great importance especially when it comes to development. Not only this, but the way a society treats its children speaks volumes about how they view and understand development. My belief is that in most cases children are a product of their environment. Society must provide the proper tools and models to nurture children in way that fosters healthy development. The characteristics of that society reveals a lot about the children and the children reveal a lot about the society in which they grow up. Both depend on one another.

I have really admired your thoughts in the blogs as well as the discussions. Throughout the course I have grown to respect your opinions and gained much insight from your shared examples and personal experiences. I have hope that you will succeed later on after the course. I am grateful to have been apart of this experience with you. Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
